Limited Masterworks 2015 Terrine Swan Service Count Brühl's Alliance Coat-of-Arms

Order No.: 905684-05034-1
27x34 cm, 4800 g
The "Terrine Swan Service Count Brüh's Alliance Coat-of-Arms is part of the "Swan Service". Bellied and round, the shape of the terrine offers plenty of space for the art of Meissen embossers and porcelain painters. A naked nymph sits enthroned on the back of a dolphin as the handle of the lid completely covered with a shell-like relief with crossed legs. It goes back to Johann Friedrich Eberlein. But not only mythological figures, also putti could not be missing on a typical baroque dinner service. As a handle Eberlein let them ride on fish whose mouths spring from snails, crabs, shells and festoons with flowers. They run around the terrine to the alliance coat of arms of the client Graf Brühl, which forms the centre. Limited to 25 pieces.
