Easter Egg Onion Pattern

Meissen porcelain eggs are inspired by traditional Easter decorations. Moulded from the manufactory's porcelain, each egg is then painted by hand. The rounded shape and characteristic radiant white lustre offer the manufactory's porcelain painters a flawless, broad - albeit small-scale - surface on which to bring their miniature paintings to life. Applied en détail with delicate brushstrokes, the world-famous Meissen "Onion Pattern" takes on a geometric form. Introduced in 1731, it is one of the manufactory's earliest designs and is still applied in the manufactory's own cobalt blue to this day in order to emphasize the flawless lustre of MEISSEN porcelain. Meissen's Easter egg collection features a wealth of designs that can be combined in a variety of ways, offering celebratory accents to spring bouquets and floral arrangements.
