The Meissen artist Ludwig Sturm (1844-1926) first designed the original shape of the vase "Afternoon Garden" in 1890, which is now artfully reinterpreted and exclusively limited to 10 pieces. With the vase "Afternoon Garden", Olaf Hajek invites the viewer into a visual world of fantastic gardens and their mysterious residents on Meissen porcelain. Fantastical figurines are a perfect fit to the opulent natural spectacle of exotic plants, fruits and animals, enjoying the lightness of being in the enchanted thicket. An apparently endless green plant tendril - a sign of the eternal cycle of nature - connects the naturalistic creatures.
