"Breakdancer" is the final work of sculptor Maria Walther in the master class of Jörg Danielczyk. In an impressive way, she has succeeded in capturing the breakdancing movement "Windmill" in rapid rotation in the static of a sculpture. During its creation, however, the design underwent a strong metamorphosis, in which the breakdancing figure developed into a strongly abstracted movement. Elongated edges of the sculpture draw like air currents around the body, delimit tense surface - With the limited figure "Breakdancer" Maria Walther has developed a completely new formal language, a seemingly unreal structure of light and shadow play. The controlled energy, the flowing dynamics, which she actually formed in porcelain, finally opens up at second glance.
